*Margo Delora's story begins here*
Captain Margo Delora looked out the view port of the bridge of her Arquiten-class command cruiser, designation "Loyalist", and admired the sight before her. From her vantage point, she had a clear view of the Shield Gate and the speck of land beneath it where the new information center was well under construction. Soon, this would be the focal point of all Imperial Information and she was honored to be in charge of guarding it, though it was a simple job. With the exception of the occasional drunken pirate trying his luck, there was not much going on at this post. However, unlike the monotony of her Coruscant post, she enjoyed a lull in the action this time, as in the past few months, she had led teams of stormtroopers in a galaxy wide hunt for renegade Jedi, and had captured or killed a fair few of them. This post was her reward. She was quite pleased with the quiet.
However, what she wasn't pleased with was the new arrival that had been assigned to her vessel. All she had been told from Director Krennic was that a new Captain was being dispatched to help her with the command of the ship. The very notion was ridiculous, she thought. She was in perfect control of the situation. Nevertheless, the Lambda-class shuttle she was told to expect had just dropped out of hyperspace and was on final approach to the "Loyalist". Margo shook her head and turned on her heels, walking towards the elevators and hopping a shuttle to the landing dock. When she arrived, a welcoming party of stormtroopers was already lined up at the loading ramp of the now landed shuttle. Margo walked through them and stood at the end of the line in the middle of the aisle they formed, and folded her hands behind her back. The door opened and Margo's heart sank into her knees. "No....it can't be." She whispered to herself.

*Calla Midanyl's story begins here*
But unlike Margo, the new comer knew exactly what she was in for, and therefore had time to prepare for the reunion during flight. A smirk crossed red lips and her eyes sank their dark hooks, seemingly, into Margo’s soul. “Captain Delora. It’s been so long. I hope you’re doing well. I trust everything is running as smoothly as it was the last time I received a briefing,” she said, her voice not cold but level. Calla knew how to play nice and coridal when she needed to. Her personal feelings never interferred with her professional actions. And she had trained herself hard to accomplish that feat.

Margo almost choked and audibly coughed as she tried to keep her composure. "Lieuten- I mean.... Captain Midanyl. What an unexpected surprise. From what I understand, everything is running smoothly, and to be frank, I'm not sure why Director Krennic reassigned you here. This part of the galaxy isn't exactly the most exciting. Hell, it might be more interesting had you remained on Coruscant." During this, Margo had rearranged her position to allow Calla to walk along side her, and was clenching her fists behind her back. Of all the people to send to join her, it had to be her former lover. What kind of bizarre twist was this?

She laughed lightly in her girlish way. “A smooth transition to my new title, Captain. I hope you get used to it - well, for now, anyway. Until I out rank you... Ah, but tis wishful thinking,” she singsonged, looking around the base. “My... A tight ship you run here.. Hmm.. To be honest, I’m not sure why either. And I gently asked. I received the answer that was most akin to ‘do as you’re told’. But I guess they think we work well together,” she said, tucking a stray strand of dark hair behind her ear. She remained calm and walking upright, as if completely unaffected by their reunion.
But inside, she was dying. She wanted to hug her. But she also wanted to hit her. Yet, it all remained tightly locked away in her mind as they strolled, her heels making light clicks on the polished floor.

Margo left the trooper escort behind, and led the way through hallways to her office. The doors opened, and Margo gestured Calla to enter first. She followed behind and then walked ahead and stood next to her desk. "Now that the formalities are out of the way, what the hell are you doing here, Callie? Last I heard, you were still a Lieutenant stationed on Coruscant. What happened? For what it's worth, I've missed you." Margo shifted uncomfortably in her shoes.

Calla followed close behind, almost offering more of a wave than a salute to the troopers as they entered Margo’s office. “I hope mine’s this nice,” she muttered, looking around absent-mindedly. But upon hearing speech, she turned and looked over her shoulder, pulling her long, dark hair over the other shoulder to play with it - a common habit of hers. “What do you mean ‘what am I doing here’? Didn’t we just cover that? I was assigned here. There was... tension where I was. After my promotion, some words were exchanged and I thought it best that I be placed at a different station. And I specifically said that I didn’t care which one.” She walked to the nearest chair, sitting and delicately crossing her legs. “I’ve missed you, too” she said, partially out of habit and partially because she meant it. She wasn’t quite sure what was going to happen now. She wasn’t planning on having a one-on-one so soon. But she couldn’t leave now. Time to face whatever music was coming her way.

Margo cleared her throat and sat behind her desk. "Well, I might as well get to business, then. No point in dwelling in the past. Might as well bring you up to speed on this station. I have been hand selected by Director Orson Krennic to spearhead the oversight of this facility. When complete, Scarif will be the jewel of the Empire's information archives. All the most top secret information, plans, and schematics will be stored here in the Citadel Tower, protected by the Shield Gate you see before you. From here, I can oversee all deliveries and departures, and I protect the fleet from pirate attacks that dare to occur here. I'm actually expecting a shipment of T-7 ion disruptor rifles to be delivered shortly. You're welcome to watch that transaction." Margo tapped her desk, and a hologram of a zeta-class ship appeared, with an inventory log of rifles and ammunition along side it.

“I - Okay,” Callie tripped over her words, mentally kicking herself as she looked at the floor. As she listened, her eyes followed the flow of information when not intently trained on Maggie’s eyes. If there were two things Callie could be described as, they were ‘inquisitive’ and ‘active listener’.
“Oh, sure~,” she said, eager to watch her former lover work again. One of Callie’s favorite things about the fiery captain was her intent and work ethic. The way her mind worked and her hands moved - it captivated her in a way. And she longed to see it again. That, and this would be the first bit of interesting work she’d seen in an eon. “Is there anything you would want me to do? Or just sit back and enjoy the show?”

Margo wandered around the room, unable to keep direct eye contact any longer. Despite what happened, she still had feelings for her ex, and didn't want to leave her in the first place. But she had a job to do, and Calla was getting in the way. She did what she had to do and she wasn't sorry. Maybe this new assignment would show Calla had changed to be more amicable, and they'd be able to reconnect. If not, then the work goes on regardless. She turned to speak again when alarms sounded over the speakers. A voice called out over her intercom. "Captain! Shots fired from outside scanner range! They were unaimed and seemed random. No damage taken. Please advise!" Margo whirled around to reply. "Launch a squad of fighters to investigate! I want a full report!" Looking back at Calla Midanyl, she spoke in a soft voice. "Looks like this command just got a lot more exciting. *Margo and Calla's stories continue in Ships in the Knight, but will return to this thread*

*Continued from Ships in the Knight*
Over the comms, a voice called out. "Captain, I'm sorry to report that the enemy ships have escaped into hyperspace. We lost them. The freighter they attacked is intact and the crew is alive. They report they were boarded by a man who used a mind trick on them. What are your orders, Captain?"
"Return to base and standby. That's all for now, Sergeant," Delora said and shut off the system. "You see, Calla? Now there are 2 Jedi running around out there attacking our ships and robbing us. They are exactly the threat that the Emperor said they were. Still want to protect them? That ship was carrying our supply of T-7 ion disruptors. Do you have any idea what havoc a single Jedi can wreak on us with that kind of weapon, let alone 2 with an entire crate's worth?"
She stared at Calla, then walked over and slumped into her desk chair. "This is a mess. Director Krennic will not be pleased, let alone the Emperor."

Calla stood silently, contemplating. “Wreak havoc? Please. You’re afraid of two Jedi? Save your breath. I’ve never known you to be such a defeatist,” she smirked, curling a strand of hair around her finger. “They probably don’t even know what they have - just grabbed in desperation”.
Seeming to straighten out an imaginary crease in her skirt, she looked at Margo with her grey eyes, “Plus, you never miss a chance to impress. Sure, you might have have an issue now - but won’t Krennic be impressed when you bring in two Jedi?”

Margo continued to sit at her desk, and she activated her computer. She sent a coded communication to Director Krennic explaining the situation. When she was done, she looked back at Calla and saw the same fire in her that was there a year ago. The same fire that made them separate in the first place. She wished it wasn't there. How she wanted them to just embrace each other and return to the way things were. But this was a serious matter, whether Calla agreed with it or not.
"You and I both know first hand what power two Jedi possess. They are not ordinary beings. They are living weapons. I'm amazed that two survived the Purge, but we have work to do now. With that shipment interrupted, we're going to have increase security around here. The location of this planet and base is a guarded secret. While it is possible to randomly jump here, the odds of doing so right when a shipment of high value weapons arrives is very unlikely. We must assume they knew about that ship, and therefore, must assume there is a leak somewhere in the Empire. However, a manhunt will take too long as there are thousands of people in both high and low ranking positions who know our delivery schedule. So, the obvious course of action is to reinforce what we can here. I requested reinforcements to this location. They should be arriving by the next rotation. I trust that you will help me in this endeavor?"

She frowned, knowing that somewhere in that mess, Margo was right about something. Those Jedi could not be allowed to roam freely. But if those Jedi were to have a chance - if she were to help them somehow - she’d have to play along. The grimace on her face turned to one of calm acceptance. The fire cooled to embers.
“Of course, Maggie... No, I’’m being honest. You’re right. We need to get this sorted - feelings aside. We have work to do. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have let my opinions cloud my judegment,” she said, looking at her, almost apologetically. “I can and will help you. What can I do?” She borderline singsonged.

"I'm glad you're finally seeing things as they are, Callie. Thank you." Moments later, her computer beeped, indicating a received message. Margo quickly read its contents. "Director Krennic has informed me that, given the situation, he has reached out to the Emperor himself and they have decided to deploy a new type of reinforcement to aid us. He didn't go into detail, but he did say that the lead investigator is known as an Inquisitor and is already en route. Looks like our Jedi problem is about to go away, my dear.....Captain." Margo said, clearing her throat when she realized what she started to say.
She stood up and began to leave the office, beckoning Calla to follow. They were to head back down to the landing platform to greet this Inquisitor.

A familiar burn hit her cheeks at the near slip up. She missed the pet names, the cuddles, sneaking kisses when there was important work to be done... She didn’t quite know what to do. Her mouth tried to portray a handle on the situation.
“Ah - Uh.. An Inquisitor? Really?” She began to try to fall into step with Margo...and instead found herself pushing her into the wall beside the door, embracing her in a tight hug. The familiar feeling brought back enough memories that she didn’t want to let go, but did after a moment. “I...wanted to do that since I walked off the ship...Thought now would be as good a time as ever to try to get away with it, so no one would have to witness my death,” she lightly giggled, swaying back a little.
