Hey all!! For those of you confused about what's canon and what's not, I am putting together this handy-dandy list of the canon timeline. Simply click on it to be brought to the page that has all Star Wars canon media in existence in chronological order. All material in the canon timeline was created post-Disney takeover, which is the year 2012 and later. Everything in the Star Wars universe that was released prior to 2012 is part of the Legends continuity and therefore doesn't count towards the new stories and timeline. That's not to say they aren't good stories, they're just not part of the official universe. There are exceptions to the pre-2012 purge, however. Those exceptions include the first six (6) movies, as well as The Clone Wars animated TV show (the computer generated one, not the cartoon one). If there are other exceptions, I'm not currently aware of them. Please let me know if I missed something!!
With Disney's subsequent acquisition of Marvel comics, they took over full production of Star Wars comics, relieving Dark Horse comics of that responsibility. So if you see a Star Wars comic published by Dark Horse, there is a more than likely chance that it's part of Legends.

Just as a reminder to all, this forum is set in the CANON timeline, which means that almost all actions and events must follow the Canon rules, with exceptions approved or performed by the mods. I am bringing Legends material into the forum, such as weapons, vehicles, even entire species options, but I am having them exist in the rules of Disney Canon.
CANON V LEGENDS FAQ'S
This is a quick list of the most commonly encountered discrepancies between Legends and Canon. Some are questions, some are not. I hope this helps.
Legends: Lightsaber crystals come in a variety of types, each with pre-existing colors, origins, and even can be synthetically made when a real crystal is unobtainable.
Canon: The only crystals capable of powering a lightsaber are known as kyber crystals. Kyber crystals are clear in color and grow like regular crystals when left in their natural habitat, becoming bigger and bigger with time. They can be found on several planets across the Galaxy, most notably Ilum and Jedha. These sites were sacred to the Jedi. Kyber crystals are deeply in tune with the Light Side of the Force, and are living creatures in their own right. Therefore, in order to obtain a kyber crystal, a young Jedi must reach out with their feelings, being honest with themselves. Once they do this, the crystal will reveal itself to them by sound, sight, or even levitating into their hands. When tuned by their owner and placed inside the lightsaber body, the crystal will then gain its color based on the Force signature of the Jedi, being either blue, green, and purple, the latter being very rare. There is no known explanation of where gold lightsabers come from.
In order for a kyber crystal to turn red, a Dark Side user must take a pre-claimed crystal from its owner and remove it from the hilt. From there, the Dark Sider floods the crystal with Dark Side energy, much to the dismay of the crystal. In most cases, the crystal will fight back to defend itself, filling their attackers head with visions and illusions, and even throwing them across the room. However, if the will of the Dark Sider is stronger than that of the crystal, they will succeed and the crystal will turn red. This process is known as bleeding. A bled crystal can be purified, with the only known case of this resulting in a white color.
Legends: A Jedi that does not conform to the mantra of the Jedi Order and does their own thing is known as a Gray Jedi. Gray Jedi are known to use Dark Side powers while still serving the Light, despite the objections of the Council. Their actions are typically not enough to get them expelled from the Order, but when they are, they continue in their actions on their own.
Canon: Despite my own character Farren Sefu being classified as a Gray Jedi, they don't actually exist. Even in Legends, the concept of Gray Jedi wasn't taken seriously, with the Jedi Order saying they are nothing but radicals. While Gray Jedi do not exist, I would say that Qui-Gon Jinn, Mace Windu, and Ahsoka Tano would be prime examples of how the Gray Jedi would behave. They all served the Light, but weren't afraid to do things their own way, either more passively or aggressively than would be expected. In this respect, an argument could be made that Kanan Jarrus could also have potentially have been a Gray.
Legends: Chiss are very Force-Sensitive, mingle with the population of the Republic/Empire, and can grow to become Jedi.
Canon: Anyone who has read the novel "Thrawn: Alliances" will know that most of that is not true anymore. Mitth'raw'nuruodo (Thrawn) himself explains to Vader that Force sensitivity is rare among the Chiss, existing almost exclusively in their female children, though male children have been documented. Even further, the Force powers seem to limit themselves to only precognition, which caused the Chiss Ascendancy to use the children as pilots in the dangerous hyperspace routes of the Unknown Regions they called home. These children were known as Ozyly-esehembo in their native language of Cheunh. In Galactic Basic, this translates to mean sky-walkers. In every known case of sky-walkers, they eventually outgrow their powers and are no longer useful as navigators. ***NOTE - This concept may be changed for the purposes of the forum, if a player wishes to be a Chiss in the known Galaxy. Jedi level Force powers in adulthood may also be granted if the character sheet is good enough.***
