*Lily's story begins here*
Sure it had been six months since she'd been on her own. It didn't help the sting that she wanted to go back to tell "dad" what she had done and learned. It wasn't like she'd ever, be able too in the way that she wanted too. Lily didn't much care about who she left behind or who she traveled with most of the time, but "dad" had been different. She still didn't get why he had been so different. The sixteen-year-old kushiban was completely lost in the world right now. Sure she could do jobs and everything but she missed the companion which was odd for her. Lily shook it off as she made her way onto the streets of Hutta Town. She never really liked being down on Nal Hutta and much preferred the Nar Shaddaa and its interesting characters. The swamps and all the ick on Nal Hutta got on her fur and even the thought of that made her fur turn darker until she shook it off. There was another reason she liked Nar Shaddaa better she knew rules here. In Hutta town you were careful but if you knew who to talk to and who to hang with, and you weren't on the Hutt's bad side. You got away with alot.
Lily wandered into one of her favorite watering holes and found a little corner booth to sit under and observe what was going on.

It wasn’t long before the Kushiban would smell a rather strong stench approaching her, followed by one of the chairs across the table from her being yanked back and thrown across the floor. When she looked up, she’d come face to face with a rather cantankerous Gamorrean, dressed in the usual gladiator style gear and with their trademark vibro ax strapped to his back. He was grunting and snorting in his native Gamorrese, and gesturing wildly to the table, back to the Kushiban, and the bar in general. Drool fell from his mouth as he ranted. It was clear that he was not in the most sociable of moods.

Lily had found things a bit dull and had fallen asleep until the stench of a hog made her wake. It took a moment for her long ears to perk up and she curled mpre when a chair went flying. Then outta no where she had drool on her. Her fur started to change a whole series of colors all in semi natural tones. Her eyes changed to red though. She hated being dirty. She didnt know the name of the species drooling on her, or rather she likely hadn't been listening when she was told. To her they were a hog like creature. She shook it off and didnt go through her record of species until she realized he was pointing towards her.
He was a gamorean and they usually were part of some of the crime lords enforcers she calmed herself though her eyes and fur had settled on red and black repectively. She spoke up in huttese. "What seems to be the problem?" her voice was small but loud enough to be heard. It was noticable however that she didnt use her voice much.

The Gamorrean responded, clearly being able to understand Huttese, but continued with his own grunting and sorting speech. He continued to gesture at the table and the Kushiban, growing more and more agitated, banging his fist on the table as he ranted. Whatever he was trying to say, it was obvious that he expected the Kushiban to do something about it. He even went so far as to pull a small dagger from his belt and wave it around as he rambled and raved.

A sleepy kushiban took a few moments to realize exactly what was going on. She stretched out her fur and eyes still the same colors but slowly starting to mute down to her normal. She was trying to figure a way to get herself clean again as the Gamorrean ranted. "Lead the way if is magisty Grakkus the Hutt has need of me." She was speaking in huttese and she stood up jumping onto the table a smirk starting to appear. If the hutt needed her she'd be more than happy to comply. Actually, she would comply with just about anything right now. She was bored and bored meant she was up to no good. If he was some other crime lord's she didn't really care. She knew that some business needed to be taken care of. She bounced off the table and was now standing next to the Gamorrean one of those lead the way looks on her face. Yup she was in for a fight he did have a weapon out but she was faster than him this much she knew.

The Gamorrean smacked his hand against his face and shook his head. He watched the Kushiban hop across the table and land at his feet, then, with a lumbering jerk, he swung his foot towards her, making to kick her. Regardless of if the kick connected or not, he would walk over to wherever she ended up - be it from dodging or being hit - and go to stab her with the knife. No matter how that encounter ended, the blade would never reach her.
*Kanter Brawne's story starts here* The was a faint buzzing sound, then a loud hiss and a groan from the Gamorrean. When the Kushiban looked up at him, she would spot a bright green energy blade sticking out from his chest, and he would be struggling to breathe. Seconds later, the blade would vanish, and the brute’s lifeless body would crumple to the ground. Behind him, a young Quarren in a formal but comfortable looking tunic was standing there, holding a deactivated lightsaber in his hand and pulling out a second one from his belt. “He said you were in his seat,” the Quarren said in Galactic Basic. “And now, I think it’s time you and I make ourselves scarce.” As he spoke, the other patrons in the bar were looking at the corpse and the weapons in his hands, and putting together the pieces in their own way.

The young bunny was not sure what it was she had done. She hadn't meant to be in someone's seat but it wasn't like this person was here. She took a breath her fur and eyes still the respective colors though they had gone back to the pure black and red instead of the muted they were hading too. On top of that when she had moved to the floor she had gotten just the tail end of the kick moving her body in such a way, that she didn't get hit that hard. However, she was about to come up with a come back of her own when the creature before her was dead. She tilted her head at what she saw and looked over to the far more interesting creature that was now talking to her. She looked up at him and simply moved over to his side. She knew the back way out and so she started to move in that direction. She was looking for wards to say.
"Thank you" She said a moment later and then opened up the door to lead them out. Of course she did have to keep herself positioned in just a way to open the door being short had its disadvantages.

The Quarren barely heard the small voice of the Kushiban over the sudden roar from the crowd. “Jedi! There’s a Jedi here!” Even that was drowned out by the sound of blaster fire as the patrons pulled their weapons and opened fire on the Quarren. He seemed to have no problem deflecting the bolts harmlessly to the floor or ceiling, or even back to sender, thanks to his mismatched blue and green sabers. Despite clearing the room of organic attackers, the alarm raised must have alerted those outside, as the room began to fill with the more rugged bodies of salvaged B2 super battle droids, restored from the Clone Wars. With their repeating blasters and armor that took more than one hit to take down, the 17 year old Quarren began to feel a little overwhelmed. However, he had a trick up his sleeve.
While managing to deflect the ever growing blaster fire with his sabers, he spotted the alcohol bottles and pressurized canisters located behind the bar. Perfect. Using both hands, he gave a Force push into the ground, knocking people off their feet, and throwing the droids into each other. Turning quickly, he bent down and went to scoop up the small Kushiban at his feet. “We’re gonna want to move fast, small one.” Looking back as he headed out the door she opened, he held out a hand towards the bottles and canisters, and flared his fingers. In an instant, the containers flashed and exploded into flames, quickly consuming the counter. When the heat from the flames became too much, the pressurized containers followed suit, blowing and demolishing the entire bar wall and sending shrapnel across the entire building. Meanwhile, the mysterious Quarren ran down the street with his fluffy companion.
As the building burned, he stowed his weapons and slowed to a walk as they mixed into the crowd that formed to see what was happening. “Do you always cause this much trouble?” He said when he was sure they weren’t being overheard.

At least the young Kushiban was used to being picked up by others but this was moving fast and it was taking all she had not to just phase through something at least she was keeping herself calm enough at the current moment but as things started to explode and go up in flames she nearly did so but apparently the calming effect of being held just sorta let it not happen as going through this person's arm didn't seem to be a thing that was possible which was lucky for organic items thankfully. She took a deep breath and just sat back. She would have helped out in the fight but she wasn't sure what she should do. She was used to being the cause of it, after all, she was a distraction most of the time. She thought for a moment at his questioning of her and a little smirk came to the Kushiban's face when she started in Huttese and then moved to a broken common. "not always but i was used as a distraction for years it comes with the territory." She could speak common but was more used to using huttese when she did talk since it was the trade language and just seemed to come more naturally to her. And of course, her own home tongue what little she knew of it and what little she got of other Kushiban she had seen in her lifetime.
She took another breath. "You seem to cause some yourself. People call me Lily what do they call you?" She was still black but her eyes had turned to a sort of deep grey and were moving between a few shades before they would actually come to her normal color. And her fur was slowly fading from its ghost white to her usual light brown. She wasn't scared now but she was on edge still so it would be a while before either eyes or fur would be calm.

The Quarren continued to walk with his new friend, but allowed her to sit on his shoulders, rather than carry her. He was intrigued by how she could change her coloring, and found the ability fascinating. “You can call me Brawne. Kanter Brawne. Nice to make your acquaintance, Lily. I must confess, though. You don’t seem very phased by what happened back there. I would have expected that all the killing and explosions would have warranted some kind of reaction, especially my lightsabers. Don’t you have anything to say about that?” The teenager continued to walk in the direction of the landing zone. He keyed a button on his wrist cuff and the engines of a jet black HWK-290 light freighter roared to life, and the loading ramp dropped down. The ship had clearly been modified, with the back half of the storage area converted into extra seating, as well as a docking station for an astromech droid, though it was currently unoccupied. “I hope you don’t mind if we go for a trip. I have some business to take care of, and I don’t have much time to waste. I can drop you off somewhere when we finish, if you like.”

Lily was happy to be up on the Quarren's shoulder. She liked being in higher places but not so high up it would be really bad for her to fall from or anything like that. She was also in the company of someone interesting so she was far more compliant with what was going on. She also had seen some things in her sixteen years of life. She tried to sound out the Quarren's name. Her common was broken when she spoke it. She only really spoke huttese with great fluency. Even though she had been taught common it was just that huttese for her was just easier. She finally gave up. "Can i just call you Kan." That was much easier for her. She listened to her words for a moment and let them settle in her head. She took a moment or two before she finally answered everything he had said.
She was about to say something when she saw his ship and she fidgeted a little bit. Her fur going to a medium auburn color. Her eyes light up a brilliant sort of pale green. She loved ship rides and she was more than happy to get off the planet they were currently on. "I don't mind." Her voice was soft but it sounded excited. She took another moment to remember other things had been said and she needed to respond in turn. She finally opened her mouth to speak on those things. "Explosion came with the territory. Lightsabers are fascinating. I have heard many stories of the ones that carry them. The good and the bad. I met one once too when I was very little. He told the freighter pilots I was with at the time that I wasn't some pet and that I was a sentient being but that was all. I was phased but its harder to tell with my species unless you understand how we express that." She gave one of those that's harder to explain look. However, in the time that he had seen her, fur had changed a number of colors and if he linked her excited voice with the color she was now. He might be able to put two and two together. "Do you know much about Kushiban?" She questioned him.

Kanter boarded the ship and went to drop Lily in the passenger seat as he keyed the ship to life and began to take off. They were lifting into the air before he started speaking again. “Let me begin by welcoming you aboard my ship, the Roll Tide. You can call me Kan if it’s easier, though I’m also known to some as Novak. If that helps, you may call me that as well. However, I notice that Basic isn’t your strong suit. I grew up on Lothal, so I can speak Huttese if that helps.” At this point, he switched from Basic, and continued on in Huttese. <In any case, you should know that lightsaber and especially Force-users are in short supply these days, what with the Emperor’s purge and all. Why didn’t you run and report me to the authorities? Mass murder should also have led to that, powers or no.>
He brought the ship into high orbit and began to chart the course through hyperspace. <I’ve never encountered a Kushiban before, though I’ve heard rumors. To be honest, I always thought your kind was a myth, or else extinct. That was the only reason I saved you back there. I find your species fascinating.> That last part was not entirely true. Although he indeed had never seen one of her kind before, that was not the sole reason to rescue her. He could see that there was something different about her, especially in her bravery against that Gamorrean. Though, it was still too early to be sure. Kanter could very well be confusing bravery for stupidity.

Lily was a bit of everything but she wasn't actually stupid. She could act like it and her curiosity tended to sometimes cause her to do what others would consider stupid things. She also got bored easily. There was indeed a difference in her than the rest of her species and she had been used as a pet for a long time too. She spoke when spoken too or when she needed too but otherwise she stayed silent. So while it was easier for her to speak huttese it was mostly just because it was the second language she had ever learned and she did not have words in her native language as she had not met many of her own kind save for when fighting was involved or the one time she met one other in a ship yard getting a part and then he had disappeared. So for her huttese was her basic language. Basic she could speak it was just annoying to try and speak for her.
She looked at can and tried to say Novak but settled on just calling him Kan it would just be easier that way. She was happily seated in the chair that he had placed her in. She wasn't about to move around as a ship too off or anything like that. But when he started to speak in huttese she started to smile and listened intently and then waited until he was done before she said anything at all to anything at all. She was happy to be conversing in something that was far easier than basic was for her. She opened her mouth to speak only when he was done with all that he said.
"Turning you in would not have benefitted either of us. I'm not keen on a lot of what the Emperor has done but that does not mean i will not live by his rules too. Its easier to play all fields or maybe that is because i have been with many types of people. All having a varying degree of like or dislike for who it is that is running things. I've also mostly lived in lawless lands." She wouldn't have turned him in because he was fascinating to. "Also you are pretty interesting yourself so why i would i let someone kill you." She could tell that there was something special about him too and kind of kindred spirit. She knew what she was but she didn't have the words to say that she was force sensitive. However, she knew that her being her wasn't the only reason he had saved her. "Well, Kushiban's fur change colors depending on our moods and sometimes we can manipulate that but its hard to do. Its just our makeup." At this point she was back very light brown fur and darker brown tips of ears paws and tail. "This is usually how i look." She smiled at him and settled in. It didn't matter were they were going she loved adventures.

Kanter nodded as the navicomputer completed its work. <Yes, well, thanks for that. As for lawlessness, we have a little more of that to attend to. Ever been to Jedha?> he asked, as he pushed forward on the navigation yolk and the stars stretched out into the infinite as the Roll Tide entered hyperspace. <I have an....let’s just call him an associate, who is waiting for me there. I had a job for him. Time to see if he finished it.> Kanter smiled to himself, eager to see what awaited him on the moon.

Lily being who she was simply smiled. "Been there once" She had been there with her 'father' but that was in better times. She took a moment to watch as the craft entered hyperspace. The young bunny was so used to this travel that she curled up a bit her ears falling flat as she fell asleep waiting for them to arrive at their destination. She would usually do this unless someone kept her awake. But flying out in the blackness of space always made it easy for her to sleep and she hadn't slept nicely in a few nights anyways. ~~~~~THREAD END~~~~~ *Lily's and Kanter's stories continue here*
